Short Student Working Styles Discussions

Purpose

To guide students in reflecting on and sharing their working preferences with a group in order to identify strategies to navigate procrastination.

Outcome

Students develop the self-management, self-discipline, and emotional regulation skills to succeed in AP coursework and on the AP exam.

Action Steps

  • Students complete a Work Preference inventory.
  • Students analyze their inventory and share results with the class or a small group.
  • Teachers creates or collect resources (e.g., a template, guiding questions, an example, directions, etc.).
  • Students develop a plan for accomplishing work according to their inventory results.
  • Students use class time to use resources to build their plan with teacher/peer support.
  • Teacher & student agree on when to check-in on the plan.
