Action Steps
Set expectations for how students will use the buddy system and allow students some choice in their partner.
Prioritize honoring students’ buddy choices or pairs of students with shared interests or motivations.
Facilitate the connection with an in-class pairing lesson or ceremony.
Once a buddy system is established, set a schedule to check in with each member of each pair to see if the system is working for both parties or if adjustments need to be made.
