Middle School AP Communication

To start the process of educating students and parents about AP exams early in midle school.

The district will ensure that students and parents have enough information about the value of AP exams early enough so that there is adequate time for students to learn the study habits and prerequisite skills to succeed in AP classes. Parents will be included in the process earlier in order to obtain buy-in for their student’s eventual participation in AP classes.

The HS AP coordinator will work in close collaboration with Middle School administrators to set up a communication program between the schools and avenues for regular visits by the HS counselor.

The HS coordinator should begin to network and create connections with Middle School students through events and activities. Offering food and snacks can be a helpful way to draw students to these sessions.
