Gather input from your students on times they are likely to take advantage of office hours, prioritizing before or after school hours. If possible, allow students to shift their schedules as needed to ensure they get assistance
Gather all of the information about the office hours before sharing, including: when and where, how students should use office hours, what you can and cannot discuss, and how students can sign up.
Provide students ample reminders and time to sign up before holding the first set of office hours. Make sure to re-offer them as a support when students are struggling.
