To support students’ success by previewing academic expectations for a course.


Students know and understand the academic expectations of a course at a high level from the very beginning.

Action Steps

Using the course and exam description and or the syllabus for the course, provide a lesson/instruction that clarifies performance expectations and communicates major deadlines in the first days of class.

In the onboarding lesson include any developed rubrics, model performance on reading/tasks/central skills needed to succeed on AP exam and provide exemplar/non-exemplar analysis of test questions/prompts for students to review.
