Setting-up Academic Goals

To help students manage their coursework in AP courses by utilizing SMART goals.

Students increase self-management and self-discipline skills through goal setting in order to succeed on the AP exam.

Action Steps

  • Establish a support time where students can receive remediation or study skills support.
  • Directly teach students about setting SMART goals.
  • Students set 1 – 2 SMART goals for the next two weeks using the template linked below.
  • Follow up with checkpoints where students self-reflect and assess their own progress. Then, at the end of the time period allotted, they either revise the goal or devise another one for the upcoming time period.
