About Bryan Woodard
R. Bryan Woodard is Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel with responsibility for managing the legal affairs of all bank products offered by State Street Corporation, including Institutional Services, Global Markets, Alpha, Global Credit Finance and Global Treasury. In this role, Mr. Woodard oversees a global team of attorneys located in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific supporting custody, middle office, trading and investment platforms and capital markets businesses, including equities, foreign exchange and securities lending. Mr. Woodard is the Chair of New Business and Product Review Approval Committee, and is a member of the Asset and Liability Committee, Trading and Market Risk Committee and Fiduciary Risk Committee. Prior to joining State Street, Mr. Woodard was a senior associate with Ropes & Gray, a preeminent global law firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, where he represented private equity funds and public companies in connection with debt and equity securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions, and advised public clients on a wide range of securities law compliance and governance issues. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Mr. Woodard was an officer in the United States Air Force. Mr. Woodard holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the United States Air Force Academy and his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where he was also an editor of the Boston College Law Review. Mr. Woodard is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is also a former executive committee member of the Financial Markets Lawyers Group sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
