Explicitly teach and model for students how to ask for and access help

Asking for help effectively is a vital tool to the success of all students in AP classes. Helping students learn how to ask for the help they need, in a specific way, is a powerful tool to help them pinpoint exactly where their misunderstanding or struggle may be. In addition, providing structures students can use to ask for help is essential so that even students who may not be inclined to speak up have a way to get help.
