Celebrate accomplishments from first half of course

As students wrap up the first half of an AP course, take time to celebrate their accomplishments. This can take many forms, but taking time to do it explicitly is important, because it shows students how far they have come and models that it is healthy to stop, take time, and celebrate accomplishments before driving into the next task. Further, celebration can fuel students’ motivation and persistence for the rest of the course.
