Executive Summary: Revisiting The Turnaround Challenge

Our report, Revisiting The Turnaround Challenge: Lessons From the Field to Advance Pandemic Recovery in Low-Performing Schools, takes a look back at the Zone model presented in our seminal 2007 report, The Turnaround Challenge, and uses three anonymous district case studies to determine what worked, what fell short, and how we can use what we’ve learned to accelerate pandemic recovery in low-performing schools and begin the difficult task of reinventing public education to better serve systemically marginalized students. This Executive Summary gives a high-level overview of the paper’s key takeaways. If you would like to read the report in full, click here.
