New board members at Mass Insight Education & Research
BOSTON – August 1, 2019 – Mass Insight Education & Research (Mi) announces the addition of three new members to their board of directors. Gary Evee, Dr. Beth Gamse, and Kamau Hixon were voted onto the board at its most recent meeting at the end of June. This follows the addition of two other board members, Ernesto Gonzalez and Cecilia Frerotte, earlier in 2019.
Mi had previously stated its goal of expanding its board of directors, which grew from four to nine members over the course of the 2019 fiscal year. “We’re excited to have these new members lend their unique perspectives to our board,” said Board Chairman Dick Taggart of State Street Corporation. “We look forward to working together with our new colleagues to advance the mission and goals of the organization.”
Gary Evee is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evee Security Consulting Group, LLC. He is a former IBM executive with more than two decades of experience addressing complex business challenges across the company’s global business. He has acted as a Cyber Security advisor to a number of higher education institutions including Boston College, Bridgewater State University, and Johnson C. Smith. He also serves on the board of Dedham Savings Bank.
Cecilia Frerotte is a Principal at Wolf & Company, working in their Commercial Audit Group. She has over ten years of experience in public accounting delivering audit services. She has worked with a variety of organizations including start-ups, software developers, franchises, and not-for-profits. Her experience includes providing internal control and accounting guidance to start-ups, family-owned and closely-held businesses throughout New England.
Dr. Beth Gamse is a Consultant at Gamse Partnership. She is an experienced education evaluation leader with broad research and education policy expertise. She has led studies for federal and state agencies, philanthropic, and nonprofit organizations; her studies have examined implementation and impact of initiatives to smooth college and career transitions, improve afterschool programming, and launch research-practice partnerships. Her recent work includes consulting with nonprofits and foundations about evaluation strategy and design.
Ernesto Gonzalez recently joined Charles River Development in a product management role. He has over 20 years of experience delivering technology solutions to top-tier brokerage and investment management firms. Prior to Charles River Development, Gonzalez served as a Senior Business Analyst at Bain Capital. Throughout his career he has focused on Latino initiatives and community outreach. He was selected to participate in the Latinos for Education Board Fellowship program, which helps place Latino professionals on the governing boards of schools and education non-profit organizations.
Kamau Hixon is a Director and investment team leader for Prudential Capital Group, the private debt investing unit of Prudential Financial. Kamau is focused on originating, underwriting, and monitoring debt and equity investments in middle market companies. He is principally responsible for a $700 million+ portfolio of investments in New England and Ontario. Prior to Prudential, Kamau focused on Restructuring Investment Banking at Gordian Group, and Asset Backed Securitizations at UBS Investment Bank.
The new members join Taggart, David Adams of the College Board, Jeffrey Davis of EY, and Marty Walz of Marty Walz & Associates.
