Cybersecurity Event Introduces Students to Cyber Careers

For the 5th year in a row, Mass Insight Education & Research is hosting the Cybersecurity and You Workshop to introduce Advanced Placement® (AP) STEM high school students to cybersecurity scenarios and concepts as well as postsecondary education and career paths.

According to the world economic forum 2024 study, 4 million professionals are urgently needed to plug the talent gap in the Computer Science industry. This event, now in its fifth year, presents cybersecurity concepts and helps build awareness and access as students consider future career paths. Last year, close to 300 students from 15 high schools attended the virtual workshop which highlighted the benefits of cybersecurity across different industries, discussed cyber threats, and gave students insight into higher ed programs focused on computer science and cybersecurity.

The workshop offers classes a ‘virtual field trip’, introducing students to real-world cybersecurity concerns through engaging activities, including researching & presenting recent data breaches, identifying and creating phishing emails and smishing messages, hearing from cybersecurity professionals about career opportunities in the industry.

Thank you to our sponsors for the 2025 Cybersecurity and You Workshop!
