Shanae Tardy

Shanae Tardy is a Consultant on Mass Insight’s School Improvement Team. She is currently supporting schools in Allentown and Philadelphia to strengthen leadership competencies for adults, improve learning outcomes, and increase alignment between district and school-based teams. Prior to joining the Mass Insight team, Shanae was responsible for leading culture work across a region of eight schools in KIPP North Carolina. This work was largely rooted in shifting mindsets for adults, insisting on the belief that culture drives academics, and the way we see all students informs the way we teach them. She also co-led a KIPP high school, where she carried on the tradition of ensuring that 100% of each senior class earned acceptances to the most competitive colleges/universities to which they could gain access. There, Shanae taught and served in a leadership capacity for 14 years. Although she now calls North Carolina home, Philadelphia is her true home, given her parents’ roots there. Shanae considers herself a lifelong educator, as she believes that fighting for educational opportunity is the most powerful and critical work to be chosen.
