Margery Piercey, CPA, CGMA

As CFO/COO, Margery oversees finance and accounting, human resources, development, and IT. Prior to joining Mass Insight in this capacity in June 2018, Margery was a Mass Insight Board member for eight years over the course of which she chaired both the Finance & Audit and Governance & Nominating Committees.

Margery has spent the majority of her career in public accounting serving a diverse portfolio of public and private-company clients and not-for-profit organizations. She held many leadership roles in public accounting, most recently serving as Partner-in-Charge of a national firm’s Boston office and a member of that firm’s Executive Committee. During a six-year hiatus from public accounting, Margery worked in industry responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management with a global public manufacturing company and in the start-up environment.

Margery has lent her experience as a financial expert and business leader to a variety of organizations. She is a past Board member of the Association of International Professional Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs. She is also a past Board Chair of both the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the United Way of Tri-County. Margery is an active member of the Accounting Department Advisory Council of UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management. Margery and her husband are long-time champions of equity and diversity initiatives, including long-term financial commitments to Mass Insight and the Careers in Accounting & Management Professions program of the Isenberg School.
