About Isaiah Houtman
Isaiah has spent the past 18 years teaching AP Computer Science and Mathematics while coaching track & field at New Bedford High School (NBHS). He has taught more than a dozen different computer science and math classes ranging from Algebra 1 to the newer AP Computer Science Principles. Isaiah has been a part of the Mass Insight family for 7 years. He has been a Lead Teacher and a presenter for AP Computer Science A as well as AP Computer Science Principles at Student Study Sessions. He is also the CSA presenter for Mass Insight’s 2-day Professional Development courses. Additionally, Isaiah serves as a member of the AP Action Community focused on increasing AP enrollment for systemically marginalized students and students of color. Most recently, Isaiah has joined the team as Content Specialist for Computer Science. Always looking for ways to improve his community, he actively participates in various local organizations. This involvement features the Board of Directors for Dennison Memorial Community Center, a local non-profit organization that provides afterschool and summer services to underprivileged students. He is extremely proud of his teaching and coaching career thus far, especially of those graduates who attribute their successes to their experiences with him at NBHS.
