About Carolina Buitrago, Ed.D.
As a part of the leadership team, Carolina helps make Mass Insight a learning organization that continuously improves its work, measures its impact, and shares important learnings both internally and externally. This includes defining Mass Insight’s systems for setting and monitoring project goals, systems of continuous improvement and learning, and ongoing storytelling about the impact of the work. In addition, in this role, Carolina serves as both theorist/researcher and practitioner by managing client projects at the leading edge of Mass Insight’s value proposition. Lastly, as Director of Learning & Impact, Carolina is a contributing member to developing the organization’s growth and expansion strategy including the execution of core business development tasks. Carolina has over 25 years of experience in education, which combine mixed-methods research on school improvement and teacher effectiveness, data analytics and innovation in survey design, program evaluation of school-based and national initiatives, policy development and implementation, and counseling. Prior to joining Mass Insight, Carolina was a Senior Research Analyst at Tripod Education Partners where she led the Tripod-Teach for All Chile initiative, a school improvement project of Chilean secondary schools. Carolina co-led the program evaluation of the Head Start’s National Center on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement at the Harvard Family Research Project, and oversaw all aspects of the Kindergarten Development grants, a $28 million state initiative to support the implementation of high quality full-day kindergarten in Massachusetts, at DESE. She holds Doctorate and Masters degrees in education both from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
